Rumors have been rampant with regard to how 37 year old IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Art Atwood died on September 11, 2011. Some speculated that he drowned in a pool, while others claimed that he passed while sleeping, the result of a drug & alcohol cocktail. According to Jewbacca Singerman’s inside sources, the following is what is currently known:
OFFICERS WERE DISPATCHED TO THE LISTED LOCATION REGARDING A DROWNING VICTIM IN THE COMMUNITY POOL. WHEN THE OFFICERS ARRIVED, AN AMBULANCE WAS ON LOCATION AND WAS ALREADY TAKING THE VICTIM TO THE HOSPITAL, WHERE HE PASSED AWAY.
PRIOR TO POLICE ARRIVAL, A PERSON ON THE SCENE DOVE INTO THE POOL AND PULLED ATWOOD OUT AND BEGAN CPR UNTIL THE AMBULANCE ARRIVED. ANOTHER WITNESS HAD BEEN SPEAKING TO ATWOOD ABOUT 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE HE WENT INTO THE POOL. HE SAID ATWOOD WAS DEMONSTRATING “SUSPICIOUS” BEHAVIOR. ATWOOD WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT BAYLOR PLANO HOSPITAL.
According to the Collins County Medical Examiner’s office, no foul play was involved in Atwood’s death, but they’re still waiting on a toxicology exam before ruling on the cause and manner of death.
