The NPC Bikini Division is becoming more and more fierce as models turned NPC Bikini Athletes have spent the last year in the gyms around the country creating the look that the judges are rewarding. The competition is heating up and all of us who follow the sport are now seeing that the NPC Bikini Division is becoming an audience favorite. It's hard not to like cover girl beauty, fit bodies and charismatic presentation all rolled up into one hot package.
With that in mind, meet fast rising model and former NFL Washington Redskin Cheerleader turned NPC Bikini Athlete, Jessica Jessie from Fairfax, Virginia. Jessica is a proto-type example of what the NPC Bikini Division is producing in only it's second year. Gorgeous drop dead cover model looks, an athletic tight body & presentation skills that were founded and developed on the sidelines in front of over 90,000 fans on Sundays in the Fall. There is nothing timid about this knockout. She rocks the bikini stage and can steam up the camera lens.
Want to know more about this future superstar. Just read this brief interview I had the pleasure of doing after my photo-shoot with her.
Birth Place: Fairfax, Virginia
Ethnicity: French-German
Age: 29
Children? None
Trainer: Shannon Dey (Team Bombshell)
Occupation: Master Personal Trainer and Certified Nutritionist
Why did you pick the NPC Bikini Division?
I have been a competitor all of my life playing three sports in high school and soccer in college. Though I enjoy seeing results in my clients while working as a master personal trainer, I missed competing. When a friend of mine told me about the NPC Bikini Division, I became intrigued and attended a boot camp for the Bombshell Academy to see if I could do it. Though it was extremely difficult, I got through the brutal training sessions and loved pushing my body to the limits. The NPC Bikini Division pushes me to be my very best and I love it.
How many shows have you competed in and how did you do?
I have competed in three shows thus far and I have been fortunate enough to win my class in each of them. My first show was in New York, the 2010 NPC Steve Stone N.Y. Metropolitan Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships. I won the "B" Class, Women's Bikini over 5'4". I then won the Bikini "B" Class 2010 NPC Pittsburgh Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships. My third show was the 2010 NPC Eastern Seaboard Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championship. I won the Bikini "C" class in Atlanta.
How many days a week do you train with weights?
I train 5 days a week with weights.
How close do you stay to your contest weight in between shows?
I stay within 5 to 7 pounds of my contest weight at all times.
What are your goals and aspirations in the sport?
I would like to turn pro and compete with the best women in the world in the IFBB Bikini Division.
Is your family supportive?
My family is very supportive. They know how difficult training is. They encourage me very much. My boyfriend also supports me even trying to keep up with me during my workouts.
Who in the sport inspires you?
I really admire Bombshell Athlete Jamie Baird. She has an amazing spirit, she's truly authentic, she works hard, looks great and remains one of the sweetest persons I've met so far.
Given two Novice Bikini Athletes with equal National potential what personality qualities do you think will make one better than the other?
I believe authenticity is important. It shows on stage. I also believe whoever is having the most fun is most likely to be successful. This is a tough sport and if you're not having fun, I don't know how you're going to be able to look sexy underneath the bright lights.
Tell us your favorite and funniest moment at an NPC show that you competed at.
In Pittsburgh during the posedown for the overall bikini champion, I didn't hear the announcer tell us to turn around so I remained in one of my poses while the other two contestants began walking back towards the judges. After a few seconds I realized I was standing there alone so I did my best to walk back calmly and with poise. Though it was a little bit embarrassing, it did give the judges a few extra seconds to check out my legs.
What question do you get asked the most at the gym?
How do you get your stomach so flat?
If you could have "one" best body part, what would it be?
My derriere ... aka my butt!
What is the most frequent compliment that you get?
People compliment my abs and my booty the most, but I really love it when they call me sweet.
If you were not an NPC Figure Athlete, what would you be?
Although I've already been a professional NFL cheerleader and a part-time model, I have always been interested in the media and think I'd do a great job as a sideline reporter for various sporting events.
What in your past experiences contributed the most to your early NPC Bikini success?
I think modeling has helped me with my walk and posing on stage. I believe my stage presence is one of my strong suits. I also think my sports background and competitiveness has helped push me through tough workouts to get better and better.
What's up next for you?
I am competing in the Junior Nationals in Chicago on June 18th and 19th. I hope to earn my pro card and start competing in the IFBB Bikini Division with the best women in the world. It's going to be tough, but that's my dream.
