Don't be scared; RxGirl has ARRIVED!

rxgirlIf you're brave enough to step over into the 'BOY SECTION' in the gym and throw some iron around with the best of them, then you're brave enough to have an online journal at RxMuscle.com

No one is going to lie to you and spin some fairytales about how this sport is for the light hearted, fluffy white bunnies, lollipops and gingerbread men in tuxedos. You are working your buns off (QUITE LITERALLY) to achieve the most astounding physique you've ever had, and then on top of all that, you're going to be even more "Carb Depleted Stupid" and put it up there, in front of a panel of judges basically naked, under bright hideously unflattering lights.  And if THAT wasn't enough; you get the pleasure of watching them look you over head to toe and rank you amongst your peers.
This sport is about challenging your comfort zones. Pushing yourself beyond your 'limits' and raising the bar to a whole other level that in the past you could only dream of...and THEN going beyond even that. The good news is you actually DON'T have to go through all this alone! That is where RxGirl came into play for me.

changeYou are NOT alone!
If you would have told me 3 years ago when I began this journey at a ‘pleasantly plump' weight of 220lbs, that I'd be writing weekly articles for RxMuscle.com via RxGirl and calling some of the Top Nationally Ranked people in the industry my personal friends and some more like sisters, I would have laughed you off to Georgia! ME?! I am just a normal girl out of California just trying to lose some weight hoping to finally get a chance to feel comfortable in MY OWN SKIN. But it's true and so much more!

After following the forums on RxMuscle.com for quite some time, I would always take a click on over to the WOMEN section. At first my thoughts were "WOW THESE GIRLS ARE IMPRESSIVE THERE IS NO WAY I COULD EVER COMPETE WITH THEM!" But then something changed, I actually began to follow people, read their stories, their struggles turned into empowering victories...and something in me clicked....These girls, well, they were just like me.

IMAG0260 copyEveryone on the forum is there to support you no matter where you start or where you're going!

The great thing I found out was that some of them are seasoned veterans, have already won their pro cards, are trying to get back in the game, or are just starting out...but we all had ONE thing in common. They struggle with the same things I struggle with in a diet: some weird crack like addition to peanut butter, actually looking forward to leg day, creating concoctions that can only be described as some freshmen lab experiment gone wrong to get through yet another meal of chicken and vegetables and many more.

What it all really came down to was that they were brave enough to put it ALL out there for everyone to see, let the cards fall where they may, and then get not only the proper advice from some of the nation's top level nutritionist and contest prep gurus, they also got some of the most supportive feedback from a team of people that made even me want to join in the celebration.

I found we are all in this together.

Even though bodybuilding is considered to be a "solo sport" there is something about that comradery amongst us that takes us to a new level of understanding and appreciation for what we go through. So without further hesitation, I decided to take a leap myself and put it ALL out there. Fat pics and ALL. This is me world....LOVE IT! (read: work it, work it!)

IMG_0683 copySo much LOVE from my "RxFamily"!
The response I got was astounding!!! I'll admit I was scared. After I uploaded my journal I feverishly clicked 'refresh' on the user control panel at LEAST every 3 seconds because I was certain that someone was going to post something to the effect of 'FATTY GET OFF OUR BOARD'.....but instead, I was met with warm loving welcome arms...and finally, I found my home in this sport.

I even wrote up a few pages about my life honestly thinking that no one would care to read it. Who would care about a fat girl from nowhere California compared to these proven hero's?  But my new found RxFamily DID! Questions were asked, I was able to open up myself to these girls who were in the trenches with me. When I had a great day, we all had a great day. When I had a bad day, my RxFamily was there to pick me back up, dust me off, and get me back on track without missing a beat.

bidectomayStill going strong!
After starting this journal my life has changed 10 fold. Not only have I lost the weight and still having continued success to reach my end goal of 135lbs; I have met some of the most amazing people in the industry. I've been lucky enough to actually meet a few in key people in person and build friendships that I know will last a lifetime.

Expect Personal Growth not just Physical Changes!
I've changed my perspective on dieting; have truly learned not only patients, but humility as well. My self confidence has grown to a level that I only dreamed would be possible for me. I'd see other girls with their heads held high and I wished that could be me. To stand there and say 'THIS IS ME LOVE ME OR HATE ME BUT I WILL STILL LOVE MY LIFE!!!' and now I'm at that place THANKS to my journal on RxMuscle.com

IMG_0689Life is what you make of it. Just like the saying goes 'you are what you eat'; you'll only get out of life what you put into it.

Till then, this is CLP, hit me up, and let's get your journey started.
