Missy Flemming: A Season of Change: Journal 1
The COMPETITION SEASON has kicked off!! This is always an exciting time of the year for me. I love following the shows and competitors and seeing what the judges are looking for in each division. CONGRATULATIONS to the Arnold Competitors, you ALL looked amazing! It's going to be a great season.
That being said, it has been several months since I have written for RxGirl, so I am SO happy to be back. I am currently training to add a little more muscle to my frame that I lost leading up to my last competition of the season. At that show I finished 8th and would be lying if I said that I wasn't a little disappointed in my placing, but it just wasn’t my day.
After competing in as many shows as I have, I have learned to take everything in stride and use the disappointment to fuel my determination and drive for the next competition. I have decided to not compete in the first half of the season, WHY? Because I needed a little break (which was VERY nice) and I want to condition my body to be the best it can be when I step back on stage.
I started back in to prep in February and it is going great. I have renewed motivation and put my all into every workout. I am gaining the Lower body muscle I lost and am seeing gains in my upper body. My workouts consist of high reps and high intensity. I am now getting to the point where even though I am performing upwards of 8 sets of 15 reps, the weight is increasing while keeping proper form. Love the feeling of progress!
For those of you that are prepping for your first show or 30th show, I wish you the best of luck! Envision how you will feel after your win, that is motivation!!
I will be updating you on my progress monthly right here, so please check back. Also, come follow me on twitter @MissyLiveFit for daily motivation and other fun stuff!
