Danielle Destroys The Road To The Pittsburgh Pro
Hello!
So I am preparing for my third Pro show to date, The Pittsburgh Pro. At less than two weeks out I am feeling good, relatively speaking... haha! At this point before shows I usually feel a bit of brain fuzziness, fatigue and moodiness. Ah, the joys! It is during these times that I remind myself that it is not forever that I will feel this way and it’s usually a good sign that I am on track.
I decided to change my fitness routine. For the past two shows I used only one song. I love the song but it would be more interesting with some music changes. I now have new music with 3 different songs. With the music being so different, it was necessary to put together a whole new routine. I finished it yesterday, 2 weeks out. I’m not sure if I have given myself enough time to practice, especially with my dwindling energy. On a positive note, I am re-motivated by this new challenge I have created for myself. I think this routine presents my personality better than the last. It’s more fun and a bit cheesy LOL. I want to improve in the routine round. I hope the changes I made will help. I know I can do this:)
I found it challenging to stay motivated after the St. Louis Pro 5 weeks ago. 7 weeks between shows is tough. Not a whole lot of time to make any big gains or risk taking too much of a break. I have managed to maintain and tweak a few things I could change during that time. For that, I am happy. I knew my first year as a Pro would be tough. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. I remember how very hard I worked to earn my Pro Card. So much time and sacrifice…and it was entirely worth it! So how is this any different? I want to earn enough points to qualify for the Olympia and I have no problem working for that chance. I am proud that I made it to this level and will continue to give competing my all.
So for the next 10 days I will continue to bust my ass and dedicate any time I can find to practicing the routine on top of my usual 5 day weight split and 2 a day cardio sessions;-)
I am so grateful to CJ’s Elite Competition Suits for sponsoring my suit as well as a new fitness costume. Revolution Nutrition continues with wonderful support as they help me with my supplement regime.
