How has your life changed since you adopted this lifestyle and started competing?
My life has changed a lot. I came from a track background and was use to eat all the carbs my stomach could stand. Traveling on the weekends for track meets and eating fast food. So when I actually had to stick to a meal plan and weighing my food, I was like a deer in highlights. I found it’s like having a second job. You are always working on how to improve your physique. I find that I cannot always get out and do things because I am trying to stay focused on my goals.

What have you found to be the best way to balance family, friends, career, this lifestyle, etc…
I think the best way to balance this lifestyle is to weed out the people in your life who don’t really support you and your goals and make new friends who understand this lifestyle. I have been really blessed to have family and friends who support me and understand what it takes to compete. Because I am a military spouse I’m always around others who like to be in the gym and workout, so I get a lot of support from the soldiers and staff on Joint Lewis McChord Base. For the most part I really just stay to myself. I don’t go out and hangout too much. This way I do not fall off my meal prep and don’t skip out on my workouts. My new best friend is the gym and the people who work there.

If you could change places with one competitor for the day who would it be and why?
It would be Ashley Horner, because I would love to know how she balances the competing and traveling with having two children.

Name two of the most inspirational people in your life and tell why they inspire you.
The two most inspirational people in my life are my husband and mother. They inspire my in different ways. My husband is the one who goes along with anything I decide to do in my life. To be honest my husband doesn’t understand this whole lifestyle but heDSC 3218 LDFISJINNL is always in my corner no matter what. My mother is this one to help push me along with everything. The days that I feel like I don’t want to go to the gym, she is there to keep reminding me of my goals and like all mothers she is proud of me and if she could she would tell the whole world about her daughter and make everyone love me. She is my biggest cheerleader.

Tell one recipe or supplement you can’t live without?
I have not really played round with any recipes but right now and it is my protein pancakes. I just love them. When I feel like I want chocolate I just whip up some chocolate protein pancakes and top it with almond butter and raw honey and I am a happy girl.

Tell about a typical training day for you. What exercises, how many sets/reps…etc…
My favorite training day is shoulders. A typical shoulder day goes like this: Smith Machine seated Shoulder press 4x12, Tri-sets of front raises, lateral raises and rear deltoid flies 4x12, and superset with cable lateral raises and rope rear deltoid pulls 4x12

In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to? I would like to give a shout to my coach CJ Harris and the lovely ladies of Team Bronzed Divas
