Monique Cormier, who has overcome obesity and severe depression en route to becoming a world class amateur bodybuilder, joins Dave [ ... ]
Have you seen this girl before? She's only competed a handful of times but she's quickly making a name for herself. Ecaterina Pasiakos or "Nina" (as she likes to be called) has been a gymnast since she was 5 years old. She's also competed at the collegiate level all four years of her college career at Southern Connecticut State University. In this EXCLUSIVE interview with Rx Muscle, the extremely exotic, sexy, figure competitor from New England reveals all.
Having just received a highly respectable fourth placing at this year's Tampa Pro show I thought I would grab a hold of top competitor Nicole Ball and ask her to contribute her thoughts to our ongoing discussion regarding adjusting from on season to off season appearance for female bodybuilders.
In this year's New York Pro contest, one competitor who many feel was overlooked was Italy's Claudia Partenza. At 44 years of age, Claudia presented a dense, ripped physique that seemed destined to take up residence in at least the top ten in terms of placing; however, this was not to be and for some crazy reason, Claudia placed 15th!
The very next day I shot a video with Claudia and promised her an interview with RX Muscle. So, in keeping with my word, here we go.
Fitness/Figure competitor Tracy Winters has quite an impressive track record for someone relatively new to the sport. She placed 1st in Fitness and 4th in Figure at the 2006 NPC Red River Classic, 1st in Fitness and 3rd in Figure at the 2008 NPC Ronnie Coleman Classic, 1st in Fitness and 2nd in Figure at the 2008 Europa Super Show and, most recently, 10th in the Fitness class at the 2009 NPC Jr. Nationals in Chicago.
Wrestling fans will already be very familiar with Torrie Wilson since she was one of the top female competitors on the circuit for almost ten years. On the other hand, fans of reality TV (and I admit to being a total addict!) will no doubt recall her amazing performance on NBC's ‘I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' where she finished second to actor Lou Diamond Philips in a season finale where viewer's votes dictated the winner.
A few months ago I began my journey through the world of anabolic steroid use amongst female bodybuilders and now it is time to follow it up with a series of articles featuring steroids commonly (and not so commonly) used by female athletes.
I have also enlisted the help of our very own Sister Steel to add her take on each drug at the end of each article. So, having said all that, let us begin with ANAVAR since it is probably the most frequently used drug used by female bodybuilders.
The other day, my 8 year old son was taunting my feisty 7 year old daughter. She smacked him in the arm and as he laughed at her, he told her: "...you hit like a girl." Posthaste, she reared back and gave him a black eye.
Being a girl isn't so bad; just ask Ariel "Gigi" Khadr, the 2009 NPC Teen National Fitness & Figure Overall Champion. That's right, she won both.
I called Suzanne Germano about a week after she won the 2009 NPC Junior Nationals Overall Women's Bodybuilding Championships in Chicago, and I asked her to tell me about her incredible life transformation that I'd heard so much about. This woman has overcome so many obstacles and odds in her life that after reading this interview you'll never again doubt that anything is indeed possible. Get ready for a truly inspirational odyssey.
