What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep? The few days before competition. Making sure everything is ready for the big day, I am always so nervous that week!
Extra cardio and eating less!!
Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule? I can only go to the gym a few times a week because of my son so when I do go to the gym I am always there at least 2 -3 hours.
Monday: Gym. Legs, abs, cardio
Tuesday: Cardio with my son. (Walking around neighborhood or Park. 30-45min, depending on his mood)
Wednesday: Back and Bi's, cardio
Thursday: Cardio with my son.
Friday: Cardio with my son.
Saturday: Shoulders and Tri's, abs, and cardio.
Sunday: Cardio with my son.
If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why? It would definitely be taste! That way when I crave chocolate, it won't know if I eat broccoli instead!
If you could change one things about this sport what would it be? The technical part. Only because I still have a hard time posing! Other than that, I am happy with the way things are! I LOVE this sport!
If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why? The journal I am writing my son and pictures. That way, we can look back on the progress we have made and celebrate all the great times!
What is your favorite vacation spot? Lake Tahoe for snowboarding.
What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding? Go for it! It's hard work and takes a lot of dedication, but if you keep improving yourself and making positive changes in your life, you are already a winner!
What is a day-in-the-life of Denise like? I have a 1 ½ year old son, Elias. He is my heartbeat! He has 3 different therapists that come to our house 1x a week to work with him because he is behind. Then when they aren't there, I have exercises to do with him 3x a day. When he is awake, it's all about him. Once he takes a nap or goes to bed at night that is when I clean the house and do laundry. (which is an everyday thing around here!) I usually cook my food for the week on Sunday nights. I go to the gym the nights my boyfriend has off from work since he works a day and a night job so I can stay home with our son.
