How does your family respond to your competing? At the beginning they seemed a little confused and not 100% supportive. I don’t think everyone really understood what I was doing, and how much I really loved the sport. I think that would go for anyone newly entering an extreme lifestyle change though. It was much harder between myself and my high school friends, since I could no longer go out every weekend, stay out late, meet for lunch, etc. I definitely lost a lot of friends on this journey, but gained many along the way as well. I am very lucky to now have a huge support system, having all friends and family completely on board with me, and loving every show I enter!
What kind of goals have you set for yourself, short-term and long-term? I seem to take everything one small step at a time. My goal right now is basically making every training day count, and to make sure I have a routine ready for my next show. I put all my focus everyday into what show is next up, and do my best to feel confident once hitting the stage.
Of course I do have other longer term goals, which is building my business and eventually creating DVD’s to help others achieve their greatest! When you love the sport this much, it's hard not to naturally build a business in it, and continually get better.
What's currently on your iPod? I'm in desperate need of a change! – I only have the little IPod shuffle right now and the last 6 month have been the same 50 songs on repeat! I could probably even name them in exact order by now... lol.
I'm a fan of Rihanna, 30 Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, LMFAO…. Anything upbeat really!
