What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep? Carb Cutting!!
Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule? Cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, then weights after work followed by more cardio if I need to lean down. Right now I am focusing on toning down my legs and putting size on my upper body.
If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why?Hearing. I work with a deaf person and it is amazing what he can do. He can read my lips and communicate perfectly! I know if God forbid I lost my hearing I would still be okay and get on with life.
If you could change one things about this sport what would it be? Longer stage time! We work and train so hard to have 10 seconds on stage and it is not long enough. I say cut the number of entries and increase stage time.
If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why? My IPod! Something new and smaller is always being invented and it would be funny to see it in 20 years.
What is your favorite vacation spot? Miami. It is so beautiful there, I love the weather and atmosphere!
What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding?Set a goal for yourself. That is what I did.I picked a smaller show to enter, trained for 8 weeks and made myself do the show. Once you do one show, you'll love it and be hooked. Having a goal to accomplish (training for a show) will keep you motivated and your body will do amazing things when it comes close to show time.
What is a day-in-the-life of Brittney like? Fast paced! I am very organized and go,go,go all day. Everythign is timed, waking up to the time I get in my car for cardio, time to get ready for work and out the door. All 7 meals are timed. Get up at 7a.m. cardio 7:20-8:05, meal by 9, leave for work at 9:30, work 10-6 p.m. (timed meals at work). 6:15-7:45 gym, get home by 8, clean the house, go to bed by 10pm and start all over!
Favorite Motivational Quote:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
I say this a lot during my workouts, it really helps me and pushes me.
In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to? My trainer who has got my physique where it is today. He is my mentor, friend and coach. Trae Kidd with Insane Physiques. Also, to MHP. they saw the potential I have and signed me as an athlete on their team! Thank you to both of them!
