What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep? Hmmmm…..i love all the craziness and excitement of contest prep…but I would have to say watching people eat things that I can’t…I have to put on blinders and tell myself it really is not as good as it looks!
Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule? I do cardio every day for 1hr…somehow I make it happen!!! Depending on the day I either do it all at one time or by breaking it up. I train three days a week for 1hr….with 90% concentration on my glutes and hams as I was not gifted with either…lots of lunging, jump squats and kickbacks!!!!
If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why? Taste….my contest prep meals would taste the same as all the other food ….lol!
If you could change one thing about this sport what would it be? Not a thing….I love it!!
If you had a time capsules what would you put inside it and why? I don’t know that I would put anything inside it….I live in the moment and try to enjoy today to the fullest….i trust that the future will be just as amazing and present new beginnings that will be lived in that moment.
What is your favorite vacation spot? Any place rich in culture… a tropical island… honestly, any place spent with people that mean the most to you makes the vacation a fun and memorable one…. wherever you are!
What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding? You have to stay focused on your goals…remember why you wanted to be in the sport and have fun doing it. Not everyone is going to be supportive, but don’t let that hold you back from achieving your goals/dreams. Find a balance during your off season for family and friends because when you’re in competition mode it is difficult to have that balance. Be determined…always know that you deserve to be on that stage because of the work and sacrifices you have made to be there. Know that you will have to dedicate time to it and you have to have a passion for what you’re doing and why you are doing it because it is not always going to be easy! Will power….will power…will power…you have to have it! Enjoy the friendships created from the sport…and support each other! Also, truly enjoy the journey and what you will gain from this amazing sport…cherish the lessons, memories and friendships along the way! Competitors have to be willing to allow this sport to become a way of life…not just something they do during competition season…because there is an off season and that is where most of the work is done. What is a day-in-the-life of Tiffany like?
Non-stop! I am a single mother of two boys and have a full time job….train and compete! If I can do it….so can you! My day….5:30am Wake up…usually do morning cardio but if I don’t I try to do some at lunch and the remaining in the evening to break it up (1hr/day). I look forward to my favorite meal of the day….and make my egg white and oatmeal pancake with cinnamon and blueberries…put cup of my favorite morning coffee on and start packing my meals for the day. Get ready for work…get the kids off to school and leave by 7:30am. Drive for an hour in traffic to work…..leave work and go to the gym on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a 1hr workout with the best trainer EVER. Tuesday and Thursday I usually attend sports events during the school year for my boys. Eat every 3 hours….fix dinner if has not already been fixed and prepare my meals for the week one day out of the week. Eat my last meal at 8pm and in bed by 11pm….usually. Wake up and do it all over again…. :)
Favorite Motivational Quote: I have two….
“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
And live like there’s no tomorrow.”
“Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.”
~ Pamela Vaull Starr
