How does your family respond to your competing?
My parents have always been super supportive in all my endeavors, so when I told them I would be competing they were a little unsure of what it meant, but they were excited to learn more about it and were supportive in my decision to try something new. I think all of my family, including my three older brothers, didn’t understand it at first – “why do you want to do that to yourself” was a common question asked about my diet and the number of hours I spent in the gym, but once they understood how much I enjoyed it and loved competing on stage they all were very supportive. My oldest brother has been my biggest fan, almost never missing a show! I could not ask for a better family to have in my corner!
What kind of goals have you set for yourself, short-term and long-term?
Short term goals include obtaining my CPT certification and deciding on a specialization. I would also love to learn how to garden! I would love to grow my own sweet potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, and blueberries so that I do not have to buy them anymore! Certified Megan Organic without the high price tag!
Long term goals include traveling/working overseas and eventually working in the fitness industry full-time.
What's currently on your iPod?
I have my lifting, cardio, and everyday music collections. Lifting music includes anything rock or hip-hop and cardio music is always, always techno!! True Jersey girl at heart, nothing like a little fist pump on the stair climber! My everyday music is really anything and every genre; it gets me through my day!
My favorite songs in my iPod right now are Icono Pop’s “I love it”, The Yea Yea Yeas “Heads Will Roll”, and Wynter Gordon “Don’t Stop Me”.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of the bodybuilding world?
Outside of the fitness realm, I work full-time in Washington D.C. and in addition I have a seasonal part-time job during the summer. So in between training and working, I spend time with my amazing boyfriend and try to travel and visit new places. We make an effort to try something new every month, whether it’s a new place or a new dish for dinner. We both love history and politics, so D.C. is a great playground for us to explore! If I’m not in D.C., I’m at the shore!
Do you have a favorite exercise?
Glutes! I love squats and working on my hamstrings. I think a woman looks her best when she has killer legs and glutes! It is the hardest area to maintain, but just one more reason to eat clean and push it harder in the gym.

Favorite Fitness Tip:
Form! Watch your form! I am over-obsessed about form and holding the core tight! Having correct form is important because you will get more results from your workout and you will be less prone to injury.
