What is your favorite contest prep recipe?
It would consist of blending my egg whites, oats and a scoop of protein powder preferably peanut butter flavored into pancakes. Then I would top it with the Walden’s Farm Marshmallow topping, caramel syrup and chocolate syrup.
What part of your physique are you currently working on? Since I am making the transition to the Women’s Physique division I working on adding muscle all over, but the main focus is widening the lats, and adding size to the shoulder caps and quads.
Name one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you. There is a lot that I have learned competing and I will share two of them. 1. Slow and steady always wins the race. 2. Not one diet plan will work for everybody. Each person is different; people respond to different things that is what makes us unique individuals.
If you could compete in one other event (FBB, physique, figure, fitness, bikini) which would it be and why? I love to compete in fitness. I would love to put together a routine and their bodies are so strong and powerful.
Why NPC: It offers so many opportunities for advancement especially when one earns the honor of being an IFBB Pro.
What do you like best about competing? The ability to push myself to the next level to see what I am capable of and the friendships/bonds that are made from it. Also, I love the sense of accomplishment of a job well done when I set foot on stage; no matter how I place, I have accomplished a feat that not many people would reach.
What are your goals for the future? My goals are spending the rest of 2013 into early 2014 building my physique for the transition into the new division. I am planning on a NQ in May or June either in my home state of Michigan or down south. Then after that my next goal is focusing on a pro-qualifying show in 2014.
Competition history: Natural Michigan Northern September 2011, Bikini 4th. Monster Mash, Ohio, October 2011 Figure Novice, 2nd. Lansing Grand Prix, March 2012, Figure Short 1st. Midwest Challenge, October 2012, Figure Short 7th. Grand Rapids Championships, Michigan, Figure short 3rd. Wings of Strength, Chicago, Figure Short 8th.
Next competition: Sometime in May or June of 2014. I’m waiting to see where my body is in terms of muscle development before picking a show.
Hobbies: Cycling, canoeing, sporting events, hiking, amusement parks, volunteer work with animals and children, reading and museums.
What is the biggest lesson you have learned over the years when it comes to competing? Not to compare myself to others that are in my category. Also, that no matter the placing if I brought my best package that is better then an actual trophy.
What is your favorite contest prep supplement? It’s a tossup between AminoX BCAAS by BSN, Blue Raspberry flavor or GAT Muscle Martini.
Favorite Quote: My favorite quote comes from my biggest motivator my mom, “Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win”.
