Career: Medical Device Representative
What is your favorite contest prep recipe?
Oatmeal with almond butter and berries
What part of your physique are you currently working on?
Always working on my entire physique, but mostly upper body
Name one piece of nutrition/fitness advice that has stuck with you.
You are what you eat, 80% diet, 20% exercise….”Keep eating cheeseburgers and drinking beer, those fat rolls can’t melt themselves off”
If you could compete in one other event (FBB, physique, figure, fitness, bikini) which would it be and why? Fitness, I would love to perform, but I’m not very coordinated! In fact, I tried to do a backbend the other day and smashed my face on the ground, thought I was going to break my neck all while falling on my dog….I’m pretty sure he was laughing at me. Note to self, you are not that flexible, a gymnast, or magician.
Why NPC: NPC is one of the few amateur routes you can achieve an IFBB Pro Card, top athletes have started their careers through the NPC. I follow Nicole Wilkins very closely and she is supported by the NPC and she has given me the inspiration to start a career with this organization. I also enjoy reading NPC news online and have been able to take away a lot of knowledge from the NPC.
What do you like best about competing? All of the hard work at the gym as well as dieting and seeing a transformation, it all pays off. And the feeling of being asked how I did it and inspiring someone else to compete.
What are your goals for the future? To have an amazing figure such as Ashley Kaltwasser, Lacey DeLuca, or Courtney King, to earn pro status and join the Olympia. I have high expectations for myself. This is one area In my life that nobody is going to stop me from succeeding in! I will get there!
Next competition: September 21st, 2013, October 19th 2013
Hobbies: Exercise, biking, scrapbooking, coaching, practicing backbends
What is the biggest lesson you have learned over the years when it comes to competing? Be patient, transformation takes time and don’t cheat yourself of what you can do. Food is a major part of the plan whereas many people think its all cardio! Wrong!
What is your favorite contest prep supplement?
Casein protein!!! Yum! Cake batter flavor with almond milk, I make mine into a pudding!
Favorite Quote: “This is my body and I can do whatever I want to do to it. I can push it. Study it. Tweak it. Listen to it. Everybody wants to know what I’m on. What am I on? I’m on my bike busting my ass six hours a day. What are YOU on?” Lance Armstrong
