How does your family respond to your competing?

Luckily, I grew up in a fitness minded family. My parents retired from their health club promotional business a few years ago but still try to maintain their healthy active lifestyle. My mom taught me how to lift weights when I was 14 years old so that I could start to tone and model for their company. My younger brother Mike is close to graduating from chiropractic school and he loves going to the gym everyday! He and my parents were extremely proud that I was the first one out of the family to get on stage and compete! I will never forget the look on my mom and dads face when I walked off the stage with my trophy! My dad had pictures of me on his Facebook right after, I made them very happy and proud which brought me so much happiness!

What kind of goals have you set for yourself, short-term and long-term?

My main goals involve fitness improvement, business, and living location. First, I would like to compete in a national level show to chase my Pro card. I would love to represent a supplement company since I have been using them for years. I enjoy promotional work so my goal is to get any type of modeling or sales work in the industry. As far as career goals, I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset. I would like to own my own business one day. Since I went to college in Tampa, Florida and moved back to Pittsburgh I have been battling the seasons, which has made me realize I need to try the west coast or another area down south.

What's currently on your iPod?

I currently have plphoto 3aylists set for the gym under different artists and mix tapes. I usually listen to hip-hop and pop, anything with a good beat turns up my workouts. Some of my favorite artists Rihanna, Jay-Z, Drake, Nikki Minaj, Chris Brown, The Weeknd and Miguel.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of the bodybuilding world?

I love traveling, shopping, dining out, movies, and spending time with family and friends. My boyfriend and I are planning on going to Atlantis this year as well as Toronto and a wine country trip. In the future we would like to go to Italy and Brazil. One interesting little fact about me is that I have an obsession with organizing and cleaning. It is literally becoming worse the older I get, therefore; I find myself putting quite some time into keeping things up.

Do you have a favorite exercise?

My favorite day at the gym is legs! I love doing different types of squats: wide leg, sumo, regular and feet together. I feel like as a woman it is very important to work hard on the areas that can make or break our entire look. Squats not only keep your hips narrow and core strong they create the round curvy look that I find attractive. I usually train legs twice a week.

Competition history:

I competed in the Elite Physique Championships open bikini B class in Pittsburgh on September 7, 2013. I won my class and the overall bikini, which allowed me to qualify for Nationals.

Next competition:

I plan to compete here in Pittsburgh at the North Americans competition in August 2014.

Favorite Fitness Tip:

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail! I try to keep this in my mind every week no matter if I’m busy or relaxing! I am a firm believer in organizing and planning photo 5so that it takes the stress away when it comes to eating clean and getting to the gym!

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank my parents for teaching me fitness at a young age. I also would like to thank my coach CJ Harrison for teaching me how to prep for a show and get the perfect bikini body. He and his assistant Ruthie Harrison (IFBB PRO) supported me throughout the whole 6-week process. I also want to thank Jim, my very supportive boyfriend for understanding the struggle of day-to-day discipline. Since we live together he saw how moody I could get during the competition prep and he always was understanding and kept motivating me.
