Victor Martinez held off - literally - two of the strongest men in bodybuilding, in the form of Akim Williams (2nd) and Michael Lockett (3rd) to claim the top prize at the first ever IFBB Baltimore Pro. For the 'Dominican Dominator', it was his first IFBB pro win since the 2014 Tampa Pro.
Much was made of Martinez's recent decision to train at Oxygen Gym in Kuwait, under the watchful eye of Bader Boodai. The move has - so far - paid immediate dividends, as Martinez takes 1st in Baltimore following a recent 3rd place finish at the New York Pro.
With the win, Martinez clinches a spot at the 2016 Mr. Olympia, looking to improve on recent showings (9th in 2015, 8th in 2014) and will look to work towards regaining the form that earned him a 4th place finish in 2011.
