They call her "The Wasp"and if you have ever seen her on stage you will know why her nickname suits her so well! Meet up and coming National NPC Figure Athlete Jessica Smith.
When figure athletes take the stage, one of the first things that stands out is the shoulder to waist ratio. The wider the shoulders and narrower the waist, the more impressive an athlete appears if their conditioning is spot on. In the pit we call this "The Wasp Effect". Jessica Smith is one of those athletes that could be considered the "Queen Wasp".
The sport of Track & Field has given the sport of Figure quite a few of it's most recognized stars. Case in point, this years Ms Figure Olympia Erin Stern. Her extensive Track & Field background can easily be seen in her flawless "best in the world" physique.
Now it seems that Track & Field is also going to have a positive impact in the NPC Bikini Division. Meet National Bikini beauty Candyce Graham. Candyce, with her extensive track and field background sports one of the most impressive athletic physiques at the National level. It's somewhat uncanny that an athlete can have such a great combination of curves, shape, conditioning, beauty, presentation and style. For Candyce, all of these attributes come relatively easy for her if she stays disciplined and trains in the intense style she is accustomed too.

When legendary film director Sidney Lumet released the movie ‘That Kind of Woman’ back in 1958 (starring Sophia Loren and Tab Hunter) he may just have been subconsciously tapping into the DNA of his gregarious daughter Amy – who would be born six years later.
Having recently had the pleasure of meeting Amy prior to her first ever bodybuilding show, I can vouch for the fact that she is something of a human firework, always fired up and the kind of woman who never settles for anything less than perfection.

Although she may be a relative newcomer to the competitive arena, Oliya Melnichuk is no stranger to challenge. Her story is one of triumph over adversity, realizing her dreams despite what some would consider to be overwhelming odds.
Entering the USA as an immigrant with little grasp of the English language, Oliya had nothing but her strength of will and sheer determination to carry her through those tough early years in a strange country.
Currently making a major impact in the bikini class I thought it was time to shine the spotlight on this rising star and hear a little more about her inspirational success story...

When we are in the final weeks of our contest preparation, how often do we say, “I can’t wait till off season!” After a belly busting binge for a day or 2…it’s here. Now what?
This is a hard transition for most of us to get our head around. Our tight contest ripped bodies start to diminish, clothes don’t fit the same and confidence goes south.
