Spotlight On: Stacy Wright
Category you compete in: IFBB Fitness
Date of birth: July 8, 1983
Hometown: Charleston, West Virginia
Career: Registered Nurse & Personal Trainer
Sports Background: It all started in 3rd grade...Cheerleading, Gymnastics... and even the jump rope team in elementary school. I cheered all the way through college and then competing took over =)
Why NPC: To me, it is the true test of my abilities against the best of the best. For as long as I can remember, the women in the magazines that I wanted to look like all were in the NPC/IFBB! So of course that's where I wanted to be!
What do you like best about competing? I love the entire process! Both contest and offseason! Year round I work so I can bring a better package to the stage each time you see me! I also love to perform and create new routines! I love the smell of my competition tan and it gives me an adrenaline rush like no other! I hope to be a role model to other girls and bring a positive light to the world of fitness! This sport teaches you health, confidence, discipline, and respect!

Competitors you look up to: Anyone who has ever stepped on stage I look up to! Each and every one of us have had to overcome SOMETHING to get up there, whether it be sickness, family problems, money issues, injuries, etc... we've all overcome a huge mountain and should be so proud!
Favorite cheat food: Mexican! That's an easy one!
Favorite diet food: Egg whites and Chocolate Intrapro- it's like chocolate milk! YUM!!
Favorite body part to train: It changes from week to week or year to year. Typically if there's something I want to improve on, I hate working it, but my motto is, "train it until you love it". It seems like this year my favorites have been abs and back. I think you'll definitely see the progress that has come from that as well. =)
Least favorite body part to train: Again, it changes as well pretty frequently, but surprisingly enough, right now I don't like training shoulders. This close to my show, my routine is taking all the energy and endurance out of my shoulders so they're virtually impossible to train.
Hobbies: Who has time for hobbies? Haha! Just kidding! Any and all time that I'm not working I love to spend time with my husband, Andrew! He's a blast to be around and with such hectic lives we don't get a whole lot of time to sit down and just relax. So even if it's going to the grocery store, training together, or even working the booth at the Arnold Classic together...I would definitely say he's my #1 hobby! Hehe! I also love the gym! I love trying new gyms! It's almost like taking a kid to a new playground with all the new toys (AKA Equipment) there! Plus it's amazing how the change of environment and atmosphere can make for such an awesome workout!
Words to live by: Keep God first and the rest will fall into place! He will truly not put anything more on you than you can handle, with him by your side.
Some people in this industry put too much focus on placings and winning. Yes! Everyone wants to win. But always remember, only ONE person can be #1 at each show. Judging is always a perspective. What do I think your goal should be? I tell my girls to pick what THEY want to look like and bring THEIR best to the stage. Do everything in your own power to present a package YOU love! Why? Because you are the one who has to live with your body! If you are not happy with the way you look and are trying to look a certain way for someone else, not only will you not be satisfied with yourself, but you will not be at your greatest confidence level to shine on stage and it'll show. I also think your goal should be progress! I'm a HUGE advocate of using the offseason! Take some time! Time is what you need to see your body get better in whatever area it may be. So patience and persistence is KEY! If you don't take that time, and be consistent with your training to get better, you will simply be spinning your tires and we won't see any progress each time you step on stage.
