What is your favorite childhood memory? My favorite childhood memory is the time my family and I took a trip to Chicago. I was the biggest Michael Jordan and Bulls fan ever! My dad took me to Michael Jordan’s restaurant and the United Center for a tour of the place. I got to take a few shots on the court and go in their locker room! I don’t think I will ever forget that day
Name a song that motivates you. I have so many! I can’t get through a workout without downloading new music. My favorites at the moment are “Liv Tonight” by Nelly and “Fly” by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.
What is your biggest gym pet peeve? People talking to me when I’m trying to workout. I really enjoy talking to everyone at my gym. They are all so supportive, however; I know almost everyone because I’ve been there for 10 years and talking to everyone I see is extremely time consuming and being interrupted repeatedly just kills my focus.
How do you like to reward yourself? Shopping!!! It keeps me sane, especially when I’m dieting and craving something bad. Everything looks better on you when you’re dieting, so it helps remind me that all my hard work is paying off.
If you could change one thing about the world what would it be? If I could change one thing about the world, I would want everyone to accept each other for who they are. I feel like there is still so much hatred in this world that is not necessary. I would do away with people making judgments of others based on their looks, race, sexuality, weight, or religion. Hearing stories and personally knowing people who have had experiences with bullying, eating disorders, and suicide breaks my heart. I think if people would just learn to accept others for who they are these issues would be a lot less prevalent.
What do you do right before you step onstage? I check out the set up of the stage just so there are no surprises when I get out there. I also run through my posing in my head while I’m in the line up and try not to watch the girls ahead of me onstage…it just makes me nervous.
Nook, Book or Kindle? When I have time to read I usually read articles online or fitness magazines. I love reading the training articles on T-nation! So motivating! Magazine wise…I like Oxygen, Muscle and Fitness Hers and FitnessRX.

Next competition: I plan on doing one more show at least before the Olympia in September. So I’m thinking the Tijuana Pro.
If someone followed you for the day what would they be most surprised about? My schedule is different every single day. As a personal trainer, I work a split shift so I work a shift in the morning and in the afternoon. With all of my clients’ different schedules my work hours are all over the place! I get up every morning at a different time, leave work at a different time and work out everyday at a different time. Even when I’m dieting, I rarely ever eat each meal at the same time every day. I always space them out the same throughout the day but sometimes I eat breakfast at 5am and other days I don’t eat until 10am.
What is your preferred tanning product and why? I have never done my own tan for a show. I’ve always had the tanning company who is sponsoring the show do my tan. Liquid Sunrayz has done my tan for every show except one and they always do a great job. This last show Jan Tana did my tan and they did a great job as well.

Give thanks for what you are now, and keep fighting for what you want to be tomorrow.
Who would you like to thank? My nutritionist Kit Kitson and everyone from my InShape Nutrition team, my sponsors, 1st Phorm, my family, my boyfriend, Damon, and my Nizami team Alex and Chinga! All of these people keep me so motivated. Competing is never easy, but I’ve realized that having friends that are supportive and compete as well, makes the whole process a lot easier and more enjoyable.
