What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep? I could easily say missing the pizza, partying, and happy hours. But the truth is it has been losing the ones I have loved the most from the insane workout and diet schedule I have kept over the past year. It’s also a toss up of being constantly reminded how selfish you are for putting this lifestyle above all else.

Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule? I’m in full competition prep now, my day starts at 3:30am, I’m at the gym by 4 and out and on the road for work by 6:30am. I get home from work at 6:30 and it’s time for round two at the gym but this time cardio. Somewhere in between I fit 6 meals, time to make the meals and oh yea, sleeping.

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why? Smell, so I wouldn’t have to smell my favorite pizza restaurant across from my gym.

me fitbodyIf you could change one things about this sport what would it be? That there would be additional guidelines on exactly what the perfect figure competitor should look like, it’s so subjective.

If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why? My progression pictures along with the number of hours I work in a year, to prove to the world that you can work 60 hours a week and be fit and healthy, dedication is truly timeless.

What is your favorite vacation spot? Anywhere on the Caribbean or Gulf Coast, the beaches are breath taking

What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding? Don’t be afraid to follow your dreams, if you have the dream you can achieve it with hard work and dedication. It might mean giving up everything else in your life, but if it’s what you want, then the end result will be worth it.

What is a day-in-the-life of Philita like? It’s very simple, Get up, go to the gym, eat, go to work (sometimes 12 + hrs), eat more, go back to the gym, eat, and go to bed! I wouldn’t have it any other way!

 Favorite Motivational Quote:

“It is impossible to win the race unless you venture to run, impossible to win the victory unless you dare to battle.” - Richard M. DeVos

In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to? James Mcguire at Shape Fitness for his dedication to my training, diet, and contest prep! I wouldn’t be where I am today without his help and support!
