What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep?
I actually enjoy my contest preparation! I am a Team Bombshell athlete and their workouts are super intense but so much fun! The meal plans are super simple to follow and they keep your energy up so no crashing in the middle of the day.
Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule?
I currently train 6 days a week, strength training days, plyo days, and cardio. As I said, with Team Bombshell the workouts are amazing as they keep you on your toes...literally. You absolutely never walk out of the gym feeling like you missed something!
If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why?
Taste! I have a bit of a sweet tooth....ok a HUGE sweet tooth and we all know that sugar is the devil!
If you could change one things about this sport what would it be?
Hmmm LOL! I'm not sure I would change anything about the sport. The one thing I love is that this sport allows for constant change so you are always striving to improve. If it stayed the same all the time we would all be bored. We , as athletes, love the thrill of competition and love the constant need to train harder to excel farther.
If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why?
Food? LOL......we always need that. I would probably put the first mothers day card that my children made me.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Oh I so love the beach! Hawaii is amazing and never gets old. I also love Laguna and Newport Beach.
What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding?
I would tell them to only do it if they LOVE it. This is a tough sport. Women have big dreams of making it big and making a ton of money. Not that it isn't a possibility but there are so many others out there after the same thing. Compete because you love the challenge of transforming your body. Compete because of all the exciting potential places you get to travel to and the different people you will encounter and eventually develop friendships with. Being with Team Bombshell has given me the opportunity to work with and compete with so many amazing women. We are such a tight network of athletes that are super supportive of each other.
What is a day-in-the-life of Lisa like?
Well my day typically starts as I roll out of bed at 4 am. MUST have coffee and breakfast and then off to train clients at 6 am. My first round of clients ends at 1, in time for me to go pick up the kiddos and then usually back for more clients from 3-6:30. Then off home to cook dinner, homework, administrative stuff with work and then lay on my bed to crash! But of course I fit in my 1 hr training and also my cardio!!! All in a days work!

In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to?
Wow...first my parents for being so patient with me! Next my dear friend and Godmother to my children, Elaine Goodlad, who has been so supportive and has kept me from losing it, only a couple times :-). Team Bombshell and Shannon Dey for showing me that a team is able to be successful, close, supportive and truly caring about their athletes.
Lastly, my two beautiful children, Kylie and Dillon. Those two are why I breathe. They are the reason I challenge and push myself daily to show them to never stop at achieving your dreams.
