What do you feel is the WORST part of contest prep? I love the working out part of contest prep. That to me is the easy part. The WORST part of prep would have to be when I am cutting carbs. I lose my brain and patience! Both of those things I really need since I am a busy mom with 4 little kids. During those times, I try to reprioritize and simplify my life as best as I can so that I can be the best me possible for my kids and my spouse.
Would you please tell us a little about your workout schedule? I lift 4 days a week and my cardio will vary depending on how close I am to a show. I will do cardio anywhere from 4-7 days a week.
If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, which one would you prefer to lose and why? I would definitely choose to loose my sense of taste. To me food has become a fuel. I need all my other senses to enjoy and cherish my children, my family, and the beauty in this world!
If you could change one things about this sport what would it be? Honestly, the only thing I can think of at this point in my competitive career, would be to have chairs provided back stage!! Since my last show was so HUGE, we had to stand for 8 hours just for pre-judging.
If you had a time capsule what would you put inside it and why? I would put a McDonalds hamburger in the time capsule with a picture of it on the day I put it in there to see if it stays the same. I would also put in a watch and see how long it would keep working!
What is your favorite vacation spot? My favorite vacation spot is where I grew up, in Lake Tahoe, NV. The childhood nostalgia and beauty soothes my soul!
What advice do you have for women who would like to get involved in and compete in the sport of bodybuilding? Just do it!!! Don’t wait to fulfill a dream. Chase your passion and let yourself fly!
What is a day-in-the-life of Kelly Lamoreaux like?
Busy, busy, busy!! I wake up early and put my roller skates on! I spend my day taking care of my family, running my kids to school (only one is in full day school), fitting in workouts, naps, and laundry. I LOVE it and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Favorite Motivational Quote:
“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
–Walt Disney
In closing, Who would you like to give a shout out to? My hot and extremely supportive husband, my beautiful sister, my partner in crime- Bianca, my incredible coach Sandi Forsythe IFBB bikini PRO, and all my friends and family who encourage and support me. I am really blessed to have great people in my life.
Thank you for the consideration RXGirl!!!! XOXO
