Hi Everyone!
I hope that the first month of 2012 was kind to you and that you are still on that New Year's resolution bandwagon! In January the gym was packed with all sorts of newbies and as per usual, my inbox has been piling up with all sorts of questions about getting started on a fitness and/or meal plan, goal setting, and competing -- keep them coming!
Candyce Graham Stays Hungry For The Arnold Stage: The Game Plan
The first step in my amazing journey is “getting my mind right to get my grind right!” I must be mentally prepared to make the necessary sacrifices in order to reach my ultimate goal...ARNOLD BIKINI INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION!!! I believe strong minds create strong bodies and one must visualize what they want to look like before they begin their journey. If you don’t know where you’re going, how will you know when you get there?
THE EVOLUTION:
FROM WOMEN'S BODYBUILDING TO WOMEN'S PHYSIQUE
Physique contests for women date back to at least the 1960's with contests like the Miss Physique and Miss Americana. However, these early "bodybuilding" contests were really not much more than bikini contests. The first U.S. Women's National Physique Championships, promoted by Henry McGhee and held in Canton, Ohio in 1978, is generally regarded as the first true female bodybuilding contest.
Sacrifice Workout Line...by IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Stacey Pillari…the name ‘SACRIFICE’ says it all. What we “sacrifice” to be the best...
I know what your thinking..."ANOTHER clothing line?" Well let me tell you this one sparks my interest due to the unique sayings found on the clothes. Anything with Peanut Butter, Chocolate and Pro Card all in the same line is enough to shake up anyone's enthusiasm. Not to mention this line offers more than clothing! Here I get to sit down with IFBB pro bodybuilder Stacey Pillari and pick her brain about what started this journey for her.
Candice Keene Back In Prep: "Keepin The Sanity!"
Hey Guys!
Well, officially just passed the 5 week mark out from the Figure International!!! Crazy how fast it is approaching! With that being said, I feel awesome about where I am at in my prep. I am very happy with how much my body is responding. As I am getting leaner, I am pleasantly surprised to see where I have made my improvements. Excited, Excited!!
Fit And Focused With Allison Moyer: Part 1: “Temet Nosce” (Know Thyself)
I frequently get asked about the tattoo on the inner side of my right forearm. It’s the second of two that I have (the other being on the back of my neck) and it’s written in Latin, “Temet Nosce”, which translates into “Know Thyself”. It’s what is inscribed on the side of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. Why would I get something like that permanently inked on my arm? Well- I truly believe in the power of knowing yourself, knowing who you are, where you come from, where you’re going, what you stand for, and what you’re made of.
