Jami's Journey in the Offseason: Achieving Balance......
Achieving balance in the off-season is difficult for most athletes and I am definitely no exception. It is even more difficult during the holidays when stress and temptation are high! This year I have the added pressure of my new gym opening. So how am I coping with this challenging time? Simple, I follow the four P’s.
Canuck Corner-Installment #3
Hi Everyone!
December is here and we all know what that means - tonnes of holiday shopping, traveling and eating! Normally I would point out the differences between our Canuck holidays and those in the USA, but this time around we all have the same days off, and celebrate in similar ways, so no need :-) The holidays are a time for family, food and fun, and of course this month also marks the time when the Arnold International invitations are sent out! Getting an invitation to the Arnold pro show is right up there on any IFBB pro's wish list, so all of the athletes who have submitted applications will be waiting with bated breath for the third week of December. Kim Tilden was the last Canadian IFBB Figure Pro to get an invitation to the Figure International (in 2010), and with no Canadians on the roster in 2011, I'm curious to see if one of us makes the cut for 2012! I am confident that Canadian athletes will do us proud again this year --so I am hoping to see some names like Justine Munro, Jodi Boam, Mindi O'Brien and Myriam Capes on the lists, just to name a few :-)
Candice Keene Catches Us Up On Her Offseason..........
Hey guys!
It’s been awhile since I last blogged. It’s amazing how fast time goes by, doesn’t it!? I mean, the Arnold is already 13 weeks away! I am starting my diet next Monday when I get back to Florida from my vacation. I have been in my hometown of Phoenix since the Monday after Nationals. 13 whole days! I love coming out here every year for Thanksgiving. Each year I would come for a week, but a week is just not long enough!
Missy Coles Continues Her Journey Forward....
Hi everyone! I am 4 weeks out of my last show of the season and things are starting to get intense. Track workouts have been added to my weekly cardio plan and I love the challenge. Nothing beats taking the workout outside, when most of my life is spent inside a gym!
Canuck Corner-Installment #2
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for checking in and reading my second installment of the Canuck Corner! October was an extremely busy month, with competitions, lots of work at the office, and travel. Now that the off season has officially started for me, I'm going to take advantage of my time off from competition prep, try to build some muscle, and make some steady improvements for the 2012 season.
Raechelle Chase's Offseason Update.....Take 1
I’m very excited to have signed a full endorsement contract with Sketchers. In addition to being paid to wear my favorite shoes, my other obligations include appearances at Skechers stores & expos throughout Australia, print work and lots of shoes. I feel very lucky to be chosen to represent a brand I love.
I have decided to apply for The Arnold Classic (Figure international) I know there are only a small group of athletes invited so if it's meant to be it will be. Either way I will be doing The Melbourne Pro on the 17th of March, so my off-season though it feels like it just started is nearly over already.
Missy Coles Journey to The IFBB Pro World Masters.....
Hi Rx Muscle fitness lovers and buffs!
I’m very excited to be writing to you about my journey during the next 6 weeks. I’m preparing for the IFBB Pro World Masters Championship in MIAMI! I’m so happy to be able to make the trip back to Florida because that’s where I’m from! I have family in Miami, so it’s going to be a really special show for me. I think I'm going to use it as my holiday celebration (& hopefully show celebration), so bring on the turkey and stuffing! As I prepare for the homecoming, I have a lot of hard work ahead of me. As I mentioned, I am 6 weeks out and the two-a-day workouts are in full swing. Right now I’m feeling strong and I’m at a good point as far as my progression. My body fat is slowly coming down and I’m starting to see some muscle definition that wasn’t there a couple of weeks ago. My goal for this prep is to keep my spirits up and don’t let a workout go by without giving it my all. My strategy includes attitude, preparation, and execution. Here are a couple of things that I do that can help you accomplish your goals;
Candice Keene Hits the Offseason......Blog 1
Hi Everyone!
Well it has been about four weeks since my 2011 season finished. I ended the season placing an amazing 4th in the Olympia and 3rd at the Sheru Classic in India! I am so happy and grateful for that! After coming back, I had a lot of schoolwork to catch up on, so that kept me busy for a while. Actually I think I am right about caught up, finally! LOL
