London England: The Journey to the British Grand Prix with Extreme Nutrition: Part 1
Better late than never? Please forgive me on the tardiness of the article. I've had a very hectic travel schedule lately and between bookings, I've gotten right back on a plane to visit my mom who has cancer, so I haven't had much down time lately.
Great Britain has castles; red double decker buses, the Queen and Led Zepplin...but they don't have The Arnold Fitness Expo...until now.
Sort of.
A couple of bodybuilders decided to promote their version and called it the British Grand Prix this year. I was invited over by my old Scottish friends Doug & Jo who own Extreme Nutrition.
TARYN SHEA LOUGHRAN : THE JOURNEY OF A FREE SPIRIT
Born and raised in Alberta, Canada, Taryn Foley was a devoted track and field athlete throughout her high school years. On leaving school her restless and inquisitive spirit led her on a voyage of self discovery which included living and working on the east coast of Australia and backpacking in Thailand...not to mention landing a contract with Disney World.
Of course the biggest story of all is Taryn's transformation into a fitness model and national competitor, losing 50lbs and 12 sizes in the process.
I recently caught up with Taryn to find out more about her journey through life and her amazing transformation...
Target Training the Glutes
The glutes comprise three muscles, the gluteus maximus, gluteus minimus and the gluteus medius, however the maximus is the one of most concern, mainly because it is the largest of the three muscles, and the one that is most visible! The glutes are nearly impossible to isolate from their adjacent muscle groups - hamstrings and quadriceps, however you can adjust your exercises to focus more on the glute, to give an isolation-like effect. That being said, you will also find that some of the best glute exercises are actually some of the best exercise choices for leg development anyway!
My weight fluctuated quite a lot when I was younger, and though I’ve been stable for the past five years at this lower weight, I still feel like the skin on my stomach is very loose. What can I do about it?
The number of male patients who come into my practice regarding skin laxity of the abdominal region has definitely increased over the years thanks to bariatric (obesity) surgical procedures with resultant weight loss that leaves many men and women unhappy with excess skin throughout their bodies.
Figure First-Timers
By: Mindi Anderson
Snagging a glimpse of that first female physique athlete at the Gold's Gym nestled in an industrial cul-de-sac of Northwestern Indiana, my curiosity culminated into a passionate desire to sculpt my flawless body. Her grunts and gleaming muscles dripping with sweat piqued my interest while I peddled that stationary bike into oblivion. Groans exerted under pressure from instruction by her glycogen-swelled bodybuilding coach, she emanated Amazonian strength coupled with compelling femininity. The blending of both characteristics merged into one lithe body with her graceful command of each mitochondrial tensile strand. The search for attainment of such a physique drew me to the sport.
