Stephanie Willes Walks Into the Pro Ranks: Blog 1: 6-15-13
June 15, 2013 will be a day forever etched in my mind. This day is the day that I imagined would only happen in my dreams. On this day I earned IFBB Pro status…….
Five short years ago I was merely a spectator in the audience of the 2008 NPC USA Bodybuilding, and Figure Championships. This was my first experience with bodybuilding. I was there to support a friend who had made the commitment of being a competitor in figure. I was just a regular girl from a small town who wanted to burst out of her shell. Seeing those girls walk out on stage, my mouth was wide open, in ah of these stunning physiques. I knew immediately that this is what I wanted to do. But could I do it?
When Inspiration And Motivation Goes Beyond Words:
A Look at Coming Back and Being Able to Inspire the Masses
Too tired to train because it was a late night. Bad day at work. Don't feel like it. Got home late and your schedule is off. Feel sick or something hurts. Sounds familiar... Excuses. How many times have we heard people complain of being stuck in overweight bodies that they hate because ‘it’s genetic’ and they don’t have a choice? I’m sure most of us would agree--too many to even count.
And then we actually start seeing reports of “studies” mapping and identifying specific genes. Oh well then, there you go. THAT’S the problem.
Or is it? Really?

From Overweight to Athlete: My Journey from Sedentary to the Stage
For most of my life, I was that very sedentary, lazy, typical person who was just sat back coasting through life, wondering where I was going to end up. All of my friends and family were in better shape than me and I had never been happy with myself. It had become apparent to me that I was considered in the “fat” range early in my life while being made fun of at school from as early as I can remember, right up through college. I was made fun of almost daily on the bus rides to school, by random people passing by me in the hallways.
